Big Issue spoke to Elín Hall about Icelandic music, export and the infrastructure behind the country’s creative industries.

I spoke to Malcolm Jack about the development of Iceland’s music industry and why stronger infrastructure around artists became necessary:

“What happened, 15–20 years ago, is we had a lot of predatory publishers come to Iceland and sign people into deals that they didn’t understand. There wasn’t any infrastructure to help artists.”
